Been a long while?

Holy snap, it's been a while since the last time I ever wrote on this blog!

Summary of the past few years - D and I got married, moved out of the city, and bought a house in the suburbs. Oh, and we also welcomed our baby girl into this world a few months ago. I swear, time is just zipping ahead. It felt like baby C was born just a few days ago, but now she's all Ms. Personality and demanding this or that. (Actually, she's quite nice, but I just complain about the times when she's not.)

Everyone learns new things once they become parents (or so I've read,) so perhaps this blog will change into more of a baby blog instead of life in the city? I honestly do miss living in NYC, but for our little family, I'm sure the burbs would be a far better choice. (Can't imagine how we would've lived in our small 1 bedroom apt in the city, with the crib, swing, play gym, jumperoo, etc!)

I have so many thoughts and tid bits that I'd like to share with other new mommies-to-be, as well as current mommies... But for now, I'll just say one thing.

Note (to self?): Baby sleeps SO MUCH BETTER at NIGHT if she wakes up at her normal wake-up time in the morning. Yesterday I needed some extra ZZs and placed her on the swing to take a mini "nap" while I snoozed away. When I woke up, it was 11AM! She had a 3 hour nap?! Oops. I paid the price for that big mistake at night, she woke up at 10:30pm and wouldn't sleep till 12:30am. She was also waking/fussing several times before 10:30 as well.

Today is a different day, with a different start. Lesson learned! Do not try to catch some extra sleep by disrupting your baby's normal wake schedule during the day, unless you're cool about having a difficult night... or maybe your baby is a sleepy baby, or perhaps an awesome baby that is already sleep trained and all that. My baby is not, true story.
